Admissions
admitting your child
The Brown Center for Autism is an intensive early intervention center designed to meet the needs of children between the ages of 18 months and six years of age diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder.
The Brown Center for Autism also understands that many diagnostic centers hesitate to give a diagnosis of autism prior to age two. Because of this, The Brown Center is willing to consider on a case by case basis children who have been classified as "at risk" or "suspected" of having autism who demonstrate behaviors characteristic of an ASD diagnosis. The Brown Center strongly supports the idea of treating the behavior we see and can measure--not a particular label.
The Brown Center believes family education and participation ultimately translates to family empowerment. Because of this belief, family involvement is also a required component for admission.
The Brown Center is a unique delivery model in that services are offered on an annual contract basis. This approach allows comprehensive services to be delivered in the most consistent, and cost-effective, manner.
The Annual Service Package offered by The Brown Center includes all services that are offered at the Center, with nominal additional fees for initial application, annual assessment, selected seminars (contingent upon outside speaker fees), and our Peer Model Program.
Our annual contracted fee is based solely upon The Brown Center´s cost of direct service to our children, with a reduction in fee possible to those who qualify based upon our Sliding Fee Scale. Families may also request a Sliding Fee Scale application when applying for admission.
We invite you to contact us with specific questions you may have, to arrange a visit to our Center, or to begin the application process.
