General Information

BCA Academy is a unique inclusive early childhood program. Young children play and learn alongside friends with autism in a preschool classroom setting. The daily schedule offers all children numerous organized small group activities, kindergarten readiness routines, and center time play. Activities and play are lead and guided by teachers who are speech therapists, occupational therapists, behavioral specialists, and early childhood specialists. The children with autism have the benefit of receiving intervention for play and language in a setting where typically developing children can model these skills. Their friends have the benefit of receiving a learning day full of organized activities designed and lead by Master's level teaching staff. Research overwhelmingly supports how beneficial an inclusive setting is to both groups of children. The children with autism make tremendous social and language gains when teaching opportunities happen in settings with typically developing children as models. The typically developing peers gain leadership skills, empathy, and broader social flexibility when in settings with the opportunity to interact children with developmental delays.

The 1:4 teacher to child ratio provides a high level of guidance and individualized attention for all children. The novel way the classroom operates allows children several choices of small group activities and learning centers creating a highly stimulating preschool day.

BCA Academy is available to 3-5 year-olds Tuesday and Thursday mornings or afternoons. Siblings of enrolled Brown Center students may request a reduced rate.

Morning Group

8:30-11:30

$25.00 per week

Afternoon Group

1:00-4:00

$25.00 per week

An all day (8:30-4:00) option may be available for $75.00 a week. 

* Grant funding may allow for a reduced tuition. Please ask when requesting an enrollment  package.
